Photography isn’t just about the epic photos I get to take. It’s the people I get to meet and the ability to live vicariously through their joyful connections and welcoming families. I love hearing speeches at weddings, hearing how proud their parents are and how much their friends adore them (besides the obligatory embarrassing story LOL).
When my couples and their families come back to me and share how happy they are with their photos or how they loved having me there on the day, it’s the greatest feeling EVER. It’s an incredible honour to document and be a part of their story.
This is what inspires me to keep becoming the best version of myself and relentlessly pursuing my passion for photography.
Bringing a fresh take on your old school love, I’ll be your hype gal on the biggest day of your lives.
Yep, you heard it from Marnia first "I truly believe she is so much more than a photographer. Every time we needed anything she’d be the first to run after it (even with a bridal party of 12!)."
Whether you want to be surrounded by your dearest friends and family, or planning to elope in private, I’ll be there to capture all the tears, laughter and happiness that will fill your day and make it unforgettable. With a touch of charming, film-like graininess for organic feels, I favour a natural, candid approach that tells your story how it is - without the forced posing awkwardness or fake laughter.
I'll be right by your side from start to finish, to support you beyond the ‘photographer’ role from timeline planning to supplying sunscreen. Capturing all the special memories from your day, and making sure that everyone’s having a good time.
Your day is so much more than just a wild, drunken hurrah’, delicious food and amazing florals. It’s about who you two are as individuals, how you met and the adventure that’s brought you both together. Your wedding is a celebration of the beginning to your forever.
Bringing the feel-good vibes wherever we go, let’s plan the epic wedding you’ve been dreaming of! I’m an open book and super fuckin’ excited, so ask me anything!
When I'm not behind the lens, you’ll find me (trying) to be a gardener, hanging with our 3 dogs, Lily (Japanese spitz), Archie (pug), Zuzu (Australian rough collie), vacuuming daily due to said 3 dogs!! Think twice before you get 3 dogs and a cat who malt all. year. round. You’ll also catch me diving deep into the internet researching all things alternative health and listening to Joe Rogans podcast, among many things!
I'm an introverted-extrovert. I'm that quiet friend nobody hears over that loud rather confident friend, but if you want an honest opinion and advise you know where to come. I notice the little things, that maybe not everyone sees. I've even helped solve a few crimes thanks to my vivid memory.. haha true story!
Fav food: Plant-based and vegan, all the way! Tofu scramble and all things Mexican
Fav drinks: Hot chocolate & cocktails, margaritas to be specific
Fav show/movies: Growing up I watched Animal Planet a tonne. If I could watch any series again it'd be Breaking Bad. And anything with David Attenborough.
I’m deeply passionate about being kind on the earth, using eco-friendly products whenever possible. From cleaning products to food and even the packing I use for my couple’s thank you gifts, it’s incredibly important that I live an environmentally conscious lifestyle and can help inspire others to do so as well.
MY FAV THINGS
I grew up in Gisborne as well as on my grandparent’s farm in the Otoko area, where I learnt a lot of my everyday life skills, and developed a deep appreciation for nature. My Poppa would regularly point out trees and birds, filling my knowledge with how things work and why. This has been a huge influencer in my eye for detail and noticing the little things that others may miss or take for granted.
I was 9 when I received my first camera, a Kodak disposable film camera (which I never got developed, oops). Then I moved on to a pink Samsung digital camera, taking photos on the farm, of butterflies and flowers in family gardens. I was 12 when Instagram first became popular and this was when my photography journey really took off. Nurturing the desire to intentionally create images, I would set up styled fashion shoots which eventually lead to collaborations with NZ brands and even a few international companies. My first ‘collab’ was with Vans & Dr Martens.
At 17, I reached out to Cat Brown, a local photographer and artist, asking if I could shadow her at a wedding to see what it was like. And sure enough, I LOVED every minute of it! And from that moment, I knew that wedding photography was what I wanted to pursue.
